Natural Insulator:
Mohair fibres are hollow and act as a natural insulator to one's feet. This means that when the wearer is in the cold, the fibres will trap in the warmth from the feet keeping them toasty warm. Similarly, during warm temperatures, the hollow remain warm and cozy. The amazing insulating factors and comfort of mohair cannot be equalled by wool, cotton or man made fibres. Mohair fibres will stop any excessive heat from reaching the wearer’s foot, and will prevent the feet from overheating.

All year round socks:
This also means that anyone who suffers from diabetes or any other ailments which may cause poor blood circulation, will also feel an immediate benefit from wearing mohair socks all year round. In summer and during warmer temperatures one’s feet will remain cool and comfortable. In winter and colder temperatures, one's feet will remain warm and cozy. The amazing insulating factors and comfort of mohair cannot be equalled by wool, cotton or man made fibres.

All our socks are made from the finest quality Kid Mohair fibre. This fibre is from our own very young angora goats thus assuring you of a consistently high quality product.

Mohair is a truly amazing fibre; its natural characteristics make it perfect for making our wonderful socks. Below are some of the magical properties of mohair, which make mohair socks difficult to beat for sheer comfort, warmth, durability and ease of maintenance.
The Medical Benefits of Mohair Socks

Mohair socks are extremely beneficial for anyone suffering from diabetes, poor blood circulation, chilblains, varicose veins and eczema.

Mohair socks have definite medical benefits for anyone who suffers from such ailments as chilblains and excessive perspiration of the feet. This is due to the ability of the mohair to draw moisture away from the skin, keeping feet as dry as possible.
Mention is made regarding the use of mohair at the time of Moses (ca. 1571 – 1451 B. C.) in the Old Testament biblical book of Exodus, in which the sons of Israel fled from Egypt bringing with them goats whose fleece was used to make fabric.  “And all the women whose heart stirred them up with wisdom spun yarn of goats' hair.” (Exodus 35-26)

The original wild Angora goats are believed to have originated in the Himalayan mountains of Tibet and then to have migrated to the Angora region of Turkey (the area close to modern Ankara). The word 'mohair' is derived from the old Arabic word “mukhaya” meaning 'cloth of bright hair from a goat'.
Elasticity is another benefit of Mohair. Mohair socks can be stretched by up to 30% and will spring back into shape. They will also retain their original shape through many washes and throughout their lifetime.

Mohair itself is an incredibly strong fibre - amazingly, it is stronger than steel of the same diameter.

Mohair is naturally antibacterial. This has obvious huge benefits when used in socks! The Mohair fibres (unlike wool which is crimped and scaly) are long and smooth and do not allow bacteria (which cause foot odour) to stick to them. Therefore, it is possible if so desired, to wear the same pair of socks for many days without them becoming unsavoury.
Mohair has a number of very special and unique properties:

Mohair socks are the most comfortable socks you will ever wear. Mohair is non-irritating even to people with sensitive skin. It is very soft and slippery to touch and has a luxurious feel to it.
Thermal Mohair Socks - These are our warmest sock - cozy, warm and toasty. The inside is kid mohair yarn knitted into a loopy insulation. Similar to a long terry pile. There are no dyes in the mohair yarn. It is natural white. The outside of the sock is mohair knitted along with a fine black stretch nylon thread this gives the outside of the sock strength and durability. That is what gives it the grey denim color. The nylon thread knitted in the outer shell helps to prevent chaffing if the inside of your felts or boots tend to rub holes in your socks.

They keep you warm in winter, cool in summer. This is because Mohair is a hollow fibre and does not conduct heat, and therefore has very good insulating properties. In winter, heat is not drawn out of your feet, and in summer, heat is not drawn into your feet!
Mohair has fantastic 'wicking' properties. Mohair socks have the ability to absorb and release moisture easily, moving perspiration rapidly away from the feet and skin and making them comfortable to wear in all types of weather.

Socks made from mohair are very durable. Mohair fibres can be twisted and bent without sustaining damage, and they will not easily crush. When combined with nylon, they make a very hardwearing sock.
Cable Socks - This is a lovely lightweight sock. It will keep your feet warm in winter and cool in summer. It has a knitted ribbed cuff. The knitted pattern over the leg and the top of the foot gives it a lovely cushiony feel. The sole and toe of this sock are worked in stocking stitch.

Finally!! A Comfortable Toe!!
This toe is finished with a very comfortable seam. The seam gently takes the shape of your foot within the first fifteen minutes that you have it on. After the first washing, unbelievable as it may seem, it becomes even softer on your toes.
